The Netherworld, death, and force ghosts.

The Netherworld
The Netherworld is where your character's spirit/soul/essence/energy/force presence/etc. (the non-corporeal aspect of a character's being) goes when they die.

The Netherworld has been broken into six (6) sections:

1. Manda is where the Mandalorian fallen go.
2. Chaos is where the fallen Sith or those who embrace the dark side will go.
3. Harmony is where Jedi and other light side followers go.
4. The Living Force is where everyone in between Dark side and Light side users go.
5. The Valley of the Dead is the middle ground where lost souls roam, it is the battleground of the Netherworld
6. The Lands of the Dead is the afterlife of the Yuuzhan Vong.

Death and the Netherworld

Death does not have to mean the end of RP for a character. Upon death, (should a player wish it) their character's essence will go to the Netherworld.
A character may start anew, or may carry their most valued personal posessions to the afterlife. Characters in the Netherworld may communicate and interact with other characters in the Netherworld as they would have with living characters before their death. Characters are also free to roam freely through the different sections of the Netherworld. Characters may also return to the land of the living as a Force ghost (see below for details).

Force Ghosts

To become a force ghost, a character must first have died, and they must RP in the Netherworld for some time while making a conscious effort, through their RP, to learn to communicate with the living. Communication with the living is to be acheived in degrees, and the learning and implementation of each stage must be properly RPed before moving on to the next. First, Force ghosts must learn to influence the intentions and inclinations of a living character by affecting their emotions and feelings on a certain object, person or situation. After that, they must learn to transmit coherent thoughts, in the form of words and phrases, to the living. The final stage of becoming a Force ghost is learning to appear to, and speak to, a living character in ethereal form. Obviously, to achieve these milestones, a dead character must first find a willing recipient of these communiques among the living.

Resurrection

There are a number of circumstances where a character may return to the land of the living. The different methods of resurrection are largely determined by how the character died;
*A character may be brought back from the dead if the person responsible for their death agrees to it. If such a thing should occur, the dead person must find numerous powerful force users among the living to role play bringing them back to the living.
*If a character died by his own hand, either by suicide, or by accident, it is up to that player to decide if their character will return from the dead. They will still have to have living characters RP the resurrection, as in the case above.
*If a character dies of illness or old age, again, it is up to the player to decide whether or not they want their character returned to the living, but they must have living characters RP the resurrection.

(The general rule here is that no dead character may resurrect themselves without the collaboration of other living characters.)
To be resurrected, your character must first RP their way to full Force ghost status in order to communicate to those who you wish to aid you in your resurrection.
